Because of the rain Sunday, I was a little worried about my feet slipping off the pedals in my car. Would it be worth sticking some grip strip on the pedals? Or are my worries unwarranted?
What have you all done?

I recently took the rubber pedal covers OFF my brake and clutch. :dunno: I've never had trouble with a foot slipping off a pedal, but too much grip seems to limit my intentional movement. I realize my response may be useless to you.

yeah I put grip tape on my racecar's bare metal clutch and brake pedals. much easier to control.
Dave Wrote:SlimKlim Wrote:I have ricer aluminum pedals with little rubber strips that come out of them. I bought them completely for looks, but was surprised at how grippy they are. The old worn down stock rubber pad got slippery in the rain, these don't really do that. It was never a huge problem, I dont think my foot ever slipped OFF the pedal, but it is unnerving to have your foot move around on the pedal as you're trying to let the clutch out.
Maybe its time for some track pedals? I bet those textured aluminum ones hold onto the bottom of a shoe pretty well. :dunno: [/img]
$5 in skateboard grip tape > more than $5 on fancy aluminum pedals
Unless you're having issues with heel-toe and need to adjust positioning of the happy pedal. Whatever you do, NEVER bend your brake pedal to compensate. Accelerator failure is a MUCH better thing than failure of a hydraulic system that stops you from running into things.
This was pretty much my plan. When I'm not on track, I could always put the fancy looking rubber covers back on, but it was so wet Sunday I was a little uncomfortable with the lack of grip. Part of it was my shoe selection too, as I'm pretty sure Chuck Taylors aren't exactly number one on driving shoe lists.

i've had knurled alminum OMP pedals and they don't hold a candle to grip tape. the tape lasts a while too.
