Your car seems to be in a great place to simply be enjoyed for a while.
Boom last quite sums it up. I could enjoy it for a while, I wsa thinking long term, but I just may not be at that point yet.
It needs about 6k in canards, roll center correction, sway bars, endlinks, full spherical bearings, upper camber plates, solid motor mounts, $3800 differential (yes thats what everyone is running, makes me sick). Luckily those really only add up to 1-2 second difference, which is why im hoping I can drive my ass off enough to do decent. I can run PTC and TTC with the car as is and have a very good chance of winning 2 National Titles this year, and just running GTS2 locally.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

The running costs for SM are low, the competition is fierce, only major downside is that the car is much slower than what you run now.
Unfortunately, I just dont think I have what it takes to go much higher. My driving will take another 2-3 years in racing to get to a reasonable level, and tons of coaching.
Yes, running costs for SM are low, but will I ever win? probably not  Bigger fish in smaller pool is better than small fish in big pool. If you're a big fish in a small pond you won't improve as quickly. When you have to do battle with people who are as fast and faster than you it will force you to turn your A game into A+ game. Caveat is that if you have to fight very hard to do well, maybe it'll take some (or all) of the fun out of it for you. Upside is that if fighting tooth and nail in SM isn't much fun, you can always sell the car and not lose your ass in resale value since demand for SM's is solid.
You're fast enough that you won't get embarrassed in SM. You'll have to drive your ass off to hang with the big dogs in SM, but then the victory will be all the more sweet.

I think you're following the herd mentality a little bit there. $4k for a diff is ridiculous. You can probably get more speed out of spending half that $$ elsewhere.
