Oval head helmets?
#1
My road racing helmet is showing its age, and my HJC moto helmet is too. And honestly neither ever fit me all that well, I have a fairly oval head I guess, so I get a lot of pressure on my forehead. Since NASA allows M helmets for HPDE, and I don't have a cage, I'd like to get a nicer moto helmet that I can use for both, and that actually fits me.

Arai makes some oval shaped helmets, do you guys know who else does? Any of you have this problem? Do you know any other manufacturers I should try? I see Scorpion mentioned, don't remember them fitting any better in the local shop though. But I'm probably not going to spend the $500-800 on an Arai.

*edit* Just found this.... maybe my question is answered. :dunno: But hey, it seemed like a slow day on the forum!

Thanks for the recommendation, I picked up a Shark RSI and a light tint shield from compacc last week since they had some discontinued models on super sale (it's still available, in XL only). Haven't ridden with it yet, though I've worn it around the house for an hour just to see if it really fits better. Verdict: it does. A little tight on the cheeks, hopefully that'll loosen up a bit, but I still like it a lot even as is. Seems to be very well thought out, well put together, and definitely fits my head better.
