The time had come for me to get something to replace my Tundra since it's getting long in tooth and I don't need a big V8 truck anymore and haven't for some time. I still however needed a support vehicle to get the CBR to the track. To that end I decided that I wanted a wagon or small SUV of some sort. And if I was gonna get a wagon it might as well be something I could do trackdays with so...
It's a 2009 so it's got the hopped up engine with the VF52 snail and stiffer suspension (over the 08). It came with the SPT exhaust on it but I may switch that out. I actually need to take a look at it because it rattles a little bit at low rpm.
I don't plan on modifying the car much in the near term future. For now I'll be installing a trailer hitch and throwing some better brake pads on.
But anyway I'm pretty happy to have a fun car again. Ever since my Integra got stolen 6 years ago it's never really been the same.

Sweet! I had the chance to drive one of these at our little Bob Wade meet-n-greet shindig back in the fall. Pretty fun car and the wagon-ness of it means it's ├╝ber-practical. Certainly more fun than a Tundra or other truck/SUV! Congrats

Nice find G, I like the color too! I've never ridden in a newer WRX / STi, I'm curious how much different it feels to the older ones.

very nice acquisition! i'm assuming by the tone of your post that the tundra was used in trade-in or sold?
i may be in the boat as you in a short period of time...but i haven't decided on what kind of vehicle i want.

Nice, took a while for that style to grow on me but I've come to like it a lot.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...
very nice!
did you get that off of craigslist? I saw one very similar that I had evil thoughts about.

Not yet, going on sale this week.

Yeah I didn't really like the styling of the 2008 much. If anything I was lukewarm to it. But with the hatch spoiler, front lip, and diffuser on the 09 it made the car look a lot better to my eye.

I had actually emailed the woman selling that car but it turns out that she had hit a pole (huh huh) with it and had replaced the front bumper, radiator, and a headlight. Not huge damage per se but my thought was that it could become an issue when I tried to sell the car in the future.
I actually picked this one up from Brown Mazda, it was a trade-in.

Nice pick up man. The 09 are putting down some crazy numbers with the vf52.

Bad ass!
Honestly, if WRX's had gotten the "power bump" in 07, I would probably have bought that instead of the Mazda.

Recently saw one tested with just SPT parts, tested on par with an 06 STI i think it said, i'd have to double check.
