like Kyle said, about 25-26" here in the tysons area. i volunteered with the inova fairfax hospital since i saw they needed 4x4 vehicles on the news and retrieved 4 physicians from their homes and dropped off 2 patients, and 4 physicians and nurses on saturday and earlier sunday - including one very cute doctor who was into e36 bimmers  . the best comment i received was from a nurse i picked up from springfield on sunday. she lived at the bottom of a hill with a decent gradient and it wasn't plowed. there were some tracks, but for the most part it was all the usual near 2' totals. i went about half-way down the hill (about a 1/4 of a mile) and found a driveway that was plowed, turned around and asked her to walk up the 500 feet or so to meet me since after that it was unplowed and untracked. she was surprised i came down that far and said, "thanks for coming down here, the hummer who picked me up yesterday couldn't make it down here and i had to walk all the way to the top". i grinned and laughed in my head. i did have a tough time when i dropped off a nurse in burke when her neighborhood wasn't plowed and only one truck made tracks. staying in the grooves was kinda tough, but i got stares from everyone shoveling their driveways since i really had to keep my momentum up (nothing ridiculously fast, but i had to prevent from getting stuck).
i was able to travel in the 2' deeps stuff and larger snow drifts/plow dunes as long as i kept moving - i did this in an apartment complex parking lot after dropping off a patient and was kind of surprised that the truck could handle it; the snow was above the axle. i did get stuck twice this weekend when i stopped in 2' of snow. digging out the snow under the chassis, putting the snow in the bed, using the locking rear diff and rocking in 4wd-Low got me out though. not bad for a stock Titan with the off-road package.
picture of I-495 inner loop on saturday afternoon (around 1pm or so). somewhat plowed, but i was easily in 6"+.

Wow that's pretty crazy when a snow storm starts jamming up the drivetrain of a full size pickup like the TItan!
Looks like you guys are getting round 2 tomorrow

I never heard an official accumulation total here in Charlottesville but I'd put it somewhere around 16" +/- 3". The worst thing about it was that it was coming down pretty heavy on Friday, then it was sleeting Friday night which packed it all down then snowed on top of that all day Saturday. If it weren't for the sleet, it would've been a much higher total I think. Shoveling that wet stuff is a bitch though.
I really really enjoy driving around in this stuff though. The STi with snow tires has been a complete beast getting around. I have only had one issue which was at the top of our street. The snow plows made a nice snow/ice bank at the top so I got stuck because I just don't have the ground clearance with my car. Aside from that, I've been driving around town in all sorts of nasty ice, slush and snow without any issues.

yeah...i wish i had a garage. i wouldn't want to cramp the room you guys have. hopefully i'll have a garage of my own in a couple years. i'm going to de-rust and clean her up as soon as i get the change. in the mean time i've been trying to guard her to make sure she doesn't get plowed or hit by another car.
For the fucking loss..I get in to work at a government building, and their hotline had the gov't people on some kind of unscheduled leave policy, but not "closed." and Lockheed Martin hotline said to go to work today, get here, and this shit is deserted. Check my email at work, and it says that we have a free vacation day...way to go hotlines.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

This better mean I'm going skiing tomorrow, otherwise I'd rather be able to have a normal day. That I have two RWD cars with summer tires on both does not help things.

We only got about 4" of snow, but we got a fair amount of ice. By midday saturday the roads were mostly clear. We are supposed to get a mere 2-5 inches tomorrow. I wish we could get enough snow to warrant bringing the tractor out but so far we haven't gotten anything the truck can't handle on it's own.

Went skiing at whitetail on sunday, and I dare to say it was the single best skiing on the East coast ever. In terms of powder..... It was straight powder, something my east coast skis were struggling with, damn reminds me I need to stop by ski chalet or something to get new skis. Heading to the pocanos this weekend for a three day long weekend of skiing, hopefully they got just as much as whitetail, and are supposed to get tons more tonight.

Well classes happened today, but the white stuff is coming back down again. Hoping tomorrow will be another day off and I can make it to Massanutten. It's getting awfully boring at Pheasant Run...
Good to hear, DJ, about the skiing. A lot to be said for fresh snow vs. the machined stuff.
