What is this? Looks like a driver training facility in NOVA

The link is a little off, look in the upper left hand corner...

It looks like it some sort of driver training facility, police? dmv?. It would be cool if was available for rent on the weekends for test and tune type sessions.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

Steve that facility is for PoePoe only. I run into guys from FFX, Arlington and Alexandria at the nearby Starbucks all the time.

I was hoping it would open to the public, I know of similar courses that are. Or rather, they may be private little tracks that are rented by the police? Does the DC area have any small tracks like that one that are open to the public?

Summit point has a little track... its kinda bumpy and slippery though. We looked into renting it a while back as a club track day but it was just too expensive.

I think Jefferson was $4500/day with EMT, flaggers, etc. It used to be less than half that 5-6 years ago.

At 20 people it'll be $225 a person.

We'd need 11 instructors (10 in car, 1 classroom), and provide track time for them. With 3 groups running and a lunch break, assuming no hangups and rotating 20 minute groups you'd get a little over 2 hrs of track time per person.

You'd also need event insurance - I dont think this is included in the track rental fee.

If this is something you want to look into, it may be best to partner up with one of the existing trackday groups to do this.

Only if you bring your own crash truck.

All track events carry event insurance with pretty high liability coverage. Its not really an option, the track requires it and I sure wouldnt want to be part of an event without it.
