Cuz they're fucking expensive. Almost as expensive as Browning. And what do they offer over their cheaper derivatives like Stoeger or Franchi? Nothin'.

ahh ok, its the old kia == bmw argument. I get it. Wink. I love my Benelli 12ga, smoothest 12ga I've ever shot.

Nah, it's not Kia == BMW.

It's more like Ford == Lincoln.

See, I don't think that the Lincoln (Benelli) offers so much more over the Ford (Franchi) to justify spending the difference between the two.

I mean, literally the only difference I could find between my Franchi and my Teammates Benelli SuperSport is that my bolt return spring is "forward" around my magazine and his isn't. A little more conventional, and it makes for a *slightly* larger handguard. The actions are identical as far as I can tell, they shoot just as well (he actually likes mine a little better) and mine is prettier.

So why'd he pay double? (Literally.) They're both Italian short-action-recoil automatic shotguns, they're made by the same company in the same factory, owned by the same family.

Now, I'm not saying that Benelli's are garbage because a Franchi is just as good. I am just saying that, for me, there was no way I could justify the extra expense to buy Towncar instead of a Crown Vic.

What did you spend? My benelli was only a little more than a comparable Remington which is really the only other gun I considered.

Well, the first time I picked this gun up I suspected there was a 25 in there, just waiting for me to coax it out.

Well, tonight was the second time I've shot it, and damned if I didn't step up to the line and shoot a 25. I didn't even realize I hadn't missed until I loaded my 21st shell, and then looked at my buddy John down the line. I'm sure he could read the fear on my face. I wanted this so bad I could taste it, and I just wanted to gloat a little.

Where do you go shooting? I'd like to go sometime. I've never shot a gun at a range before.

The league I shoot in is held at Fairfax Rod and Gun Club, but when I want to shoot on something other than a wednesday night, I normally go to Bull Run Shooting Center.

Here soon I'll schedule a "NoVA MM Shoot Shit Day", I'm just waiting on either a cooler day or for the weather to break a little. It's pretty miserable when you can't see anything for the sweat.
