My honest opinion (don't mean to scare people away). Shit happens.. People make mistakes, cars fail, whatever. If you can't live with not going home with your car then you're probably not ready for HPDE. Harsh, but I'd hate to see someone lose their means of transportation and be put in financial hell.

Its not if, but when.

You will go off track. You will spin. You will lose your brakes. Its just how you handle it that makes the difference. Experience will teach you how to handle those situations and when to know when to back off.
