Interesting TV program
#1
I was watching a program tonight about a woman who killed her husband with an axe. After which she tried to cover it up and claimed she was abused for the past 30 years. Her cover up was so extensive as to involve bleaching the floor of the garage where the crime occurred and painting the walls. She even stole another hatchet form Home Depot and returned it in an attempt to say she had never used it. Her two sons are divided, one claiming she was abused, the other denying her claims. They did so in court.

In the end she was found guilty, but the judge on the stand said that he believed she was innocent, and regretted giving her the life sentence. As the show ended they said that she was working on an appeal and that the judge had made a motion (or whatever it is called) to reduce her sentence to 2nd degree murder, so she could serve as little as 7 years. All this occurred in 2004.

This motivated me to research the verdict and see if she was given the lighter sentence. This article dated TODAY states that the motion was denied. Do the TV stations plan that stuff or was it coincidence?
