Unfortunately due to the fact that my buddy who normally works on my truck is on vacation this week and the fact that my brake caliper busted a seal (thereby leaving me with 0-no brake pressure), I took my truck to Goodyear down the street from my house. Since I don't have the tools to remove the 4WD hub, I figured I'd just have them do my rotors as well while they were replacing one of my calipers. I dropped the truck off with them Monday night, with my rotors they're supposed to install in the front seat, that way they'd have all day Tuesday to work on it. I called several times Tuesday and they said that everything looked good to get it done by the end of the day. I get a call back from them that night asking if they can keep the truck overnight and finish it Wednesday. Not like I have much choice in the matter, can't drive it without brakes. Well I just got a call back, apparently the seals were so bad on both calipers that they had to replace them both, and during that all the fluid drained out and now the seals on the master cylinder have gone bad so they'll have to replace that as well. FUUUUUUUUCK, ok tack on smoe more money to the bill, get the job done and gimme my truck. OOPs it's a special order part from Toyota and with it being a holiday weekend they don't forsee getting the part in until Monday. Fucking fantastic, what was supposed to be a simple rotor/caliper job (and a couple of other things they were checking out) has turned into a weeklong project that leaves me vehicleless on a holiday weekend where I was supposed to be out of town on Sun & Mon.

I'm trying to figure that one out myself, although I'm sure they'll blame me somehow. I intend to have a nice lil discussion with the service manager when they say the truck is finally ready. Guess I should bone up on my knowledge of how that whole system works so I have an idea of what bs he tries to feed me.
you don't have to bone up on anything. Point out that their man fucked up b/c he wasn't smart enough to plug the lines. That cannot be attributed to being your fault that the MC drained itself dry and is now fuxored. Shit, I'm not even a mechanic and I know to either plug the lines or keep the MC full.
