Is it just me or is Aaron Burr a giant douche? I mean, COME ON, pick a party already! You can't waffle from one side to the other and expect to be taken seriously in politics! I mean, come on, you're freaking VICE PRESIDENT and you're whining about "ooooh, Mr. Hamilton called me a naughty name!". Makes you wonder what kind of shadey deals Mr. Burr is up to if he doesn't want his character to ever come under scrutiny, wouldn't you say?

Sorry Goodspeed. When I saw "xx and Hamilton not on speaking terms" this was the first thing that jumped into my mind and I simply couldn't resist. I have been fascinated by Burr/Hamilton (esp. Hamilton) since before high school.

I mean, alright, Hamilton said 'something' about Burr. Confronted with this, Hamilton said that he could offer "an even more despicable opinion" on Burr, which outraged Burr. Burr demanded to know what Hamilton meant by "despicable" to which Hamilton replied that he couldn't remember exactly what sense of the word he meant, but there were a number of ways it could have been used and they all applied to Burr.

It's like a web forum flame war that ends with a duel. Anyway, it's a totally fascinating story, and anyone who doesn't know it should take a few minutes to read up. You think people take politics seriously now? HA!

Anyway, I'm with Evan on Hamilton's political views, but you have to admit that he basically played a HUGE part in guiding the path of this country, especially for someone who was just the Secretary of the Treasury. I mean, SHIT...I had to look up who our Secretary of the Treasury was. (It's Henry Merritt "Hank" Paulson Jr, fyi)

That would be incredible. But I agree with Rex, the revolutionary war and early America was the best history by far to learn in school.

But seriously, I think whats so great about early America is the fact that people were actually held accountable for their actions, and people were actually called out on shit they did. Now we're drowning in a corrupt sea of nonsensical political jargon and paperwork. So sad.
