the only fly in the ointment is that the new warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferable.

Big deal, I say. They know that a good majority of owners don't keep their car past n years and they're not likely to encounter problems before then. It's the same deal with those "brakepads are replaced free for as long as you own the vehicle." They know the expected lifecycle of original owner and it's probably not that much of a stretch for them.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Or the vast majority of Chrysler owners DIE before putting 20k miles on the damn things anyway.

Keep in mind also, that this warranty is SURE to not include wear items, nor failures associated with the failure of a wear item.

It's cool that they have this, but I don't think it really means anything different from yesterday.

yea.. this was big news in the world on chrysler and my job yesterday. from going from one of the worst warrenties in the buss 3-36 to lifetime is pretty nuts. Not that most people would keep their cars for long enough to use this but its deff. good piece of mind

deff pretty awesome

I disagree, if i were in the market for a truck like I was last year, Id seriously look at a Ram if I knew that even if the trans blew up 10 years down the road it would be replaced

I haven't been really following whats been going on here since the Cerberus group took over Chrysler. I couldn't really tell if this was a good move or a last hope desperation effort. I guess you could say I'm not a corporate strategy-savant

I'm curious though, how do the actual Chrysler products stack up to the subsidiary Dodge and Jeep products in terms of profitability and quality? I hope that at least Dodge stays afloat for their current lineup and the Challenger, would they be able to survive on their own should the Chrysler group be dissolved?

Don't you go dyin on me!

The sale to Cerberus is a great thing for the chrysler corp. Everyone is very positive excited about the new ownership. Everyone expects only good things to come out of it

this lifetime warrenty applies to all chrysler cars, chrysler dodge and jeep

and goodspeed.. the challenger will be released in 09 ( so in about a year). at first only in limited production and in a srt8 version in auto only and only black and orange. then the next year you will be able to get a hemi with a manual and a srt8 with a 6 speed and various other colors and whatnot
