A friend of mine is getting a new car. he was looking at the new Si, but drove the GTi and liked (fit in) it much more. I've looked around for him but haven't really heard/read anything good or bad about them. Anyone have any info? Right now I think he is leaning towards the DSG, because of all the traffic around here. He will probably entertain any other suggestions if you have them.
I like them. I just think they're tons more expensive than anyone in their range.
Two feet.
I want to drive a GTI with a DSG so bad... that's all I have to say. Aren't they in totally different price ranges? Likes a $5k+ difference?
they are not as nimble as an Si but are a very good all arounder. the 2.0 may be one of VW's best ever and with a simple software upgrade you're looking at something like 230hp/290lb. ft.
the DSG is also supposedly good enough that many hard core manual people have converted over to it. i don't think the limits of it's power-holding have been found but it's probably safe to say your friend won't stress it.
