ok here's my ordeal, i refuse to put the evil viruses of realplayer and quicktime and all those other viruslike "media playing" things on my computer so what im looking for is a codec (dont know if youd call it that) or program that lets media player play all those weird file extensions that are common with realplayer/quicktime. I know theres a thing like that for media player just hopin someone could steer me the right way towards a good one/one in general cause i cant seem to find it. I'm sure other people would be interested in getting those viruses off their computers too so it shall benefit all, thanks.

quicktime and real player do not contain viruses. as long as you read the options you're faced with during installation you won't get any extra crap installed.

Realplayer doesnt have any spyware that I know of, its just annoying as fuck
yea im straight on codecs with the kazaa lite codec pack, all i need now is a codec type deal that will deal with .mov extensions i didnt have media player 9 for some odd reason but i do now and that took care of .avi and all the realplayer BS. And no, realplayer doesnt install spyware if you choose the right options.......but it's still a virus. It's oh so holy and not in a good way :-\
