Sold. You want a check? You going to be at Summit next weekend? If so we can work it out w/ laura and have her update my book and yours and I'll give you the $$$.

here's my .02.
If you work 2 weekends, you have essentially earned $300 (4 days at $75 each). However, in some instances monetary compensation is not available, and in others the credits are more appealling. I like credits b/c I can't spend them and then I know that I will be on track. The availability to sell credits is just a nicety for those people involved who won't be on track and would to convert them into cash. Of course, in order to sell them, there will have to be a discount, but there shouldn't be much of one. If somebody wanted to buy credits from me, there's no way I'd go less than $250, and that would be solely to facilitate the sale.
Sadly, I only have 2 weekends of credits left from my stockpile; one for VIR in Feb, and 1 for Linds in Oct (which will be reimbursed when she starts working events).

So anyway.... I gave a weekend away to get someone involved and sold a second weekend for 200.00 because it was a friend. I sure didn't mean to start a problem, just looking to help out someone who wanted cash more than credits.

You get $75 a day for flagging

Dragon Wrote:Your comparison isn't valid. The cost a retailer charges the public isn't the actual value of the product itself, it's the price the retailer is accepting in order to turn a profit. The cost of a weekend's worth of driving with NASA is a set amount that is the same no matter who you are, the same no matter what season you're driving in, the same no matter how you're paying.
No Matt its not different. You just dont get it. (And retailers and or manufacturers often do sell product well below cost to move it)
Open Market, look it up. There is absolutely no such thing as a set value. On the other side of the coin, if nasa events always filled up the day reg opened , and worker credits somehow allowed you to cut in line, its conceivable that they would sell for a few $$ over your whole "set value" idea.
The "cost is always the same" is only the case when you are "buying" straight from nasa. This is a 3rd party sale, and the "set value" that nasa charges has no bearing on any thing other than perceived value, which really only influences the sale price, not sets it.

Quote:because if they're willing to accept less for something then that's their decision and I'm going to go with it.
Quote:As I said before what it boils down to for me is that I wouldn't accept less than the trade in value of the credits if I had any intention of using them myself in the near future.
You're starting to get it, now just put all the peices together ....

I know you didn't just give me a :?:. I made a typo (which has been fixed), not made an idiotic statement about nothing.

What makes you not deserve just as much as me, or does this just all come back to joke where you don't really mean it?
