GRM $2006 challenge car ideas
#1
me and some of my freinds are thinking about building a car.
we all have ideas on the car.. what would you all pick

our thought

dodge omni GLH
mazda 323 GTX
awd turbo DSM
older audi 4000 quattro (with turbo motor swap)
also even thinking of an aircooled VW

my vote is for a rabbit GTI with newer 2L motor turbocharged
i know its only FWD but rabbit GTI are great auto X'ers, extremely light, and with that motor setup it could run a quick 1/4 mile.

reasons being for wanting the rabbit gti because between my freind we have a car.. a motor.. a turbo kit.. suspension.. everything, and we know VW's really well.

what do you all think???

If all those parts are available, then I think the choice is simple. I imagine the hardest part is finding a car and parts.

Depends on your goals. If your goal is to have fun and learn a little go with what you know. If your goal is to win you should study what the guys that have won in the past have done and try to emulate and build upon their success (i.e. don't reinvent the wheel). Its not so much about parts (although it helps) but having supreme grand master iron chef fabrication skills.
