The plates are a play on words like Feersty said. When I got the car there was no sti in america let alone a wrx. At one point before I managed to hit a lexus this summer, I had done a psuedo-complete sti ver 5 exterior conversion. So i have this american RS which from the exterior looks like a sti, but just doesnt have the one thing that counts...the 280hp turbocharged engine...thus not making varsity and being a JV STI. Depending how things play out, this summer it might make varsity, just not exactly sure which engine, there are lots to choose from, both jdm and usdm.

Subaru Tecnica International is a in-house provider of performance Subaru parts.
Many of the locals think that the Sti is a car, when actually it is basically an Impreza with a bunch of high performance parts from Sti, therefore branded an Impreza WRX Sti Edition.
