Last time I was in Spartenburg, we flew into the region airport that is like 2 minutes from the BMW plant. On our way back from the mall to the airport, I've never seen more rednecks driving brand new BMWs.

I've been to the factory down there a couple of times. If you haven't taken the tour of the plant I would definitly reccomend it!
