Yes, I happened to have an interested coworker who took me up on my offer for $1200. Unfortunatly (for him) he found out this weekend it's not just the head, piston #1's face looks like the surface of the moon and now has a hole in it. I guess that occasional pinging I was hearing was worse than I thought.

Ick. Still seems like a decent deal. A new long block can't cost him more than a few grand installed and assuming you're helping him with it...

Coworker ended up with too many cars and is considering selling the E, now with ~100K replacement engine, new clutch. I guess he did a good job on it, he's been driving it to work ever since. I know it still needs shocks, though they aren't terrible. He'd probably be asking close to $4K. Hit me up if you need one.
