FS: flocking kit
#1
I bought this kit in Black, as well as an additional flocking applicator based upon their advice to be more efficient, earlier this year. Guess what - I flocked my entire dashboard, never used the second applicator, and only used half of the supplies. Technically, I didn't even use half of the supplies, as I was able to reclaim a lot of the fibers and added them to the 2nd bag (I did use half of the "paint" though). I don't have any more projects coming up to use this, so I'm hoping to offload it to somebody that can.

First $25 + shipping gets it (I can bring it to a NASA event if you want to arrange delivery that way too).

Nope.

A brief explanation:
Wikipedia Wrote:Flocking is the process of depositing many small fiber particles (called flock) onto a surface.

Flock consists of synthetic fibers that look like tiny hairs. Flock print feels somewhat velvet and a bit elevated. The length of the fibers can vary in thickness which co-determines the appearance of the flocked product. Thin fibers produce a soft velvety surface, thicker fibers a more bristle-like surface.

DJ, seems like it'd be a lot less work to just buy you a soft velvety dash

Definitely looks pimpy. Every time I see a flocked dash I wish I had one.

It does look pretty sweet, and as DJ noted, is actually functional. His reasoning is precisely why I did it as well.
The flocking process is really easy and fast. The work in the project is really just getting the dash out/in.

Eventually, I'll update the Z's thread to include pics of the finished product.
