Hey guys, I'm a freshman at JMU this year. I drive a 10' Mazda 3. Slow, yeah, but a first car is a first car and I'm glad I at least got one. I won't be able to access my car this year since I am from Cape Coral, Florida. Cars have been a hobby for years and I'm very familiar with cars as I have grown up with my dad getting a new car almost every year haha. I'm here to have some great fun, meet new people, and expand my knowledge of cars even more.
I look forward to meeting everyone and attending the meetings especially this Friday! My friends from a mazda forum and from other colleges in VA told me about this club so I for sure wanted to join.
Edit to include a few pictures:

Welcome to the club! I hope you can make it out to the College Challenge next weekend. Let me know if you want a ride along if you come.
Nothing wrong with a Mazda 3. I drive a Corolla which is theoretically worse, but I still manage to have a lot of fun in it and beat up on some better cars. The way I look at it, is that if you have a non-performance car, and you're slow, that's fine, but theres no excuse for the guy with a Corvette to be slower. Slow car that goes fast=awesome, fast car that goes slow=embarassing.
Rex (CaptainHenreh on here) had a Mazdaspeed 3 and definitely enjoyed it for a while. I'm not sure who else has experience with Mazdas, but i'm sure someone does.

Yeah, Mazda's are fun cars may not be the fastest but I still enjoy them when I drive em. I actually want a Speed 3 but didn't have the money for one so I got a base model to save money to attend college here.
I hope to attend the meets and meetings if people are willing to give me a ride to them, I'm not cheap and give gas money haha. Will you be at the meeting Friday?

Welcome to MM! I really like the Mazda3's and know next-to-nothing about them, since the Mazda I've owned and loved and tracked is a million years old. In any case, it's a small, lightweight FWD car with the proper gearbox and number of pedals on the floor. Can't really go wrong with that combo
See you on Friday?

If I can get a ride, I'll be going Friday.
But, yeah I can't wait to get my Mazda up here so I can auto x and go to meets with it and just be able to have fun driving it again.

I will not be at the meeting Friday, though I wish I could make it. Best chance to meet up is next weekend at the autoX.
