I swear to god, I'm going to not go to VW vortex anymore. I'm just not allowed.
I know nobody has any money for a project, least of all me. But, '93 Corrado VR6, right here in the 'burg, 2800 bucks. Needs a control arm, apparently, so 2800 is probably a little high considering the work to be done, but maybe he'd go lower?
*sigh*
*gathers self together* But my turbo KA will whup it's ass!!! Someday.

Do you think that is a good price?

For a VR6 Corrado?
Yes. It's decent. Could probably do for a little lower, but SLC's hold their value like gold.

2800 is high. Id offer 2300 or 2400 with a salvaged title, body work to be done, and the rest of it... plus it has 190k on it.

hock:
If the timing chains havent been done Id offer 500 for the car.

The guy called me.
He's super firm on the price, and "can't remember" when the chains have been done.
I told him I'd give him 1000 for it, and he said he'd part it out. I've seen it in person before, it's not too bad, but not worth 2800.

well if theres no proof of the chains being done and he 'cant remember' it means they werent done. That crap costs so much and involves such a great deal of labor that theres no way he wouldnt remember when they were done or lose the reciept for it.
That is one of the sole things that can make a car either go up in value by almost 50% or go down in value by almost 50% at the time of sale.
'i cant remember' means 'they werent done'
1000 is a decent offer.

I thought so too.
He didn't.
Maybe I'll call him back and see if he's still sold it. He said he's looking for a pickup truck.
Bah, I don't need it anyway.
