Anyone know where I can get a good deal on an optima? Maybe another one of those "15% off anythign" coupons from Advance or something?

Is this for your DD? I'd just go for the Duralast/Megalast/Autolast etc. that you can get from any parts store instead of spending the extra on an Optima. Or just sign up for the Advance Auto emails. It seems like I get online coupons from them like every week.

There are tons of AdvanceAuto codes floating around for various discounts - DEC1 is 10% off anything for purchases $75 to $149.99, 20% off anything above.

Personally, I would get a Diehard, but that's just me.... <fanboy>I've got a Diehard Silver in my garage that will still take and hold a charge after 6 years of use + 2 years of sitting in a garage with no charger attached.</fanboy>

I am probably going to scope junkyards for batteries for anything other than my primary vehicle in the future. $24 for an (almost) brand new Everstart Maxx, can't go wrong with that.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I'm thinking of taking my diehard silver back. It's having a hard time in the mornings as cold as it has been. Unfortunately I've had zero luck with any other battery. I'm just hoping this one was a dud!

FYI it's only 6 months old Sad

Yea I usually just go with the standard AAP or Autozone battery. OEM Honda batteries seem to be exceptionally crappy, I've already gone through two of them.

I'm pretty sure I am going to get one from Deracola...because that's insane.

Should I get a red or yellow? I am not sure I understand the difference, I think I want Red, right?

There's a "which should I get?" at the bottom of that thread, but the short answer is red should be fine.

In my experience, red only if you drive it regularly. Myself and several others I have talked to that have cars that sit for more than 10-14 days without being started have had troubles with the red top. I finally got sick of it after two of them and went with a Duralast Gold. Now starts after sitting for two weeks or more, even when it's 17 degrees out.

The yellow I think was described as a more deep cycle that might handle this better but I never tried it.
