June 19/20 HYPERFEST! (and who's doing the kart enduro?)

Not so. I passed that guy on the first re-start.... a good 4 laps prior. Kevin Kopp and I were nose-tail for 3 laps with me leading at leat one and he leading 2 with me in 2nd. No way did they go back to the previous lap... Check Mylaps and you can see the gap I had on him for 3 laps.....

No big deal. I actually thought the guy would have the character to tell JJ what really happened, but I guess character doesn't run that deep in his paddock. Just $25 in Toyo Dollars and a piece of wood, both of which I have plenty.

I was watching from where the video was taken. The guy in the tank and his friends were in the back of a pickup 4-5 cars to the left of the bleachers and they were yelling at the guys in the stands from that far away. You need to be looking for trouble for that to happen. And you're right Adam, watch the second video, someone says "Push him over the edge!" Are fucking kidding me?

Oh well, that was later and I was with a buddy I had not seen in a good 15 yrs. I guess since we were those asshats, an irony that did not go unnoticed.

Had a great time earlier with my boys. The guy with the red Corrado has a daughter that goes to school with my son so we were checking him out. I think 77x was MM family? I thought I saw #24 Porsche 944 in the Autobahn qualifier but I saw Chris post something here about the time they were on track so :dunno: The boys enjoyed the drifting but most of all the LeMons cars.Hey...uhhh...you think maybe MM could...uhhh..you know...a new idea...right? That drifting stuff is pretty wild live. That Solstice was pretty badass.

Gratuitous pic of child watching drifting

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

I think it was during lunch, which was ~45 minutes after qualifying. A lot of the guys in the paddock went over to check on the Le Mons 944 we had running. Me? I surf MM on my phone.

Here's my video from Saturday: http://vimeo.com/12751751

My dad was in the car Sunday.

I agree on the drifting... it was pretty awesome this year. Evidently they brought in a new group and the difference was dramatic. It ain't my thing, but those guys do have some serious talent.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Cost for Lemons is somewhat prohibitive (we've investigated already) but we have some other ideas, don't worry just yet!

I had a blast all weekend - this was my first Hyperfest (I know I know) and it was great. The drifting is totally not my thing but I appreciate it for what it is. The LS7-powered Solstice was badass. Apparently the stunt bikes have been better in years past, but I've never seen it and we only caught the finale, so who knows there.

Anyway, I worked grid again, Nate got to work grid on Saturday as an extra which he enjoyed. We brought out 7 current students and had the typical alumni which is always awesome. Great seeing Channing and G - don't be so scarce in the future

I have some drift/Daisy Dukes video I took for shiggles, I'll post it when I get a chance.

.

The idea seems to have an annual appearance with a two week shelf life. .... it's hardly "$500" ... someday.

pretty crazy weekend, seemed pretty extra crashy. I had a great time catching up with some of you, I need to do more of that! Thanks for the stickers and beer. Most entertained by the Pete and Sean show though, that was insane. I do wish i got to see some of the lemons race, but i got to do *almost* everything!
