Itching for a new hobby, any suggestions??

This is the current hot rod, box stock and it'll stay that way save for maybe a Novak ESC and some hotter motors. The car I had before this was a Tamiya TL01, FRP chassis, lots of carbon bits, adjustable coilovers, CNC'd aluminum wheels and a Mustang Cobra and Supra bodies, it took every penny I had during my childhood :lol:

what's up tamiya buddy? the bullhead is such a classic...probably one of the few R/C's that if you keep it stock and nice you can almost make money off them in 10 years time. i had an FF01 (their first FWD chassis) that i ended up putting a BB kit in, HPI double deck carbon fiber chassis, HPI wheels and tires and a tamiya tuned spring kit. i wish i held onto it...those FWD chassis are rare now. actually i wish i held onto my original RC10 too....dammit.

Yeah, I got the Bullhead ~5 years ago now and its been in storage for perhaps 4, though I should be getting it back this summer. Its pretty much mint, only driven about half a dozen times or so. I had wanted one since middle school when my friend got one and I had a Midnight Pumpkin, and we'd tear it up. My MP had the black "Sport" 540 motor and an ESC and it would pop wheelies for as long as you held the trigger down. I'm probably going to buy the re-introduced/updated kit just for nostalgia's sake

For some reason I really like the idea of building an RC helicopter or plane. I may hop into a hobby store and see what they have there.

Start cheap, because you will, absolutely crash your first model and perhaps total it. You can get jet-turbine powered big scale fighter jet models these days, but I like the idea of the $50 foamies I posted above...you can crash them and pretty much tape them back together.

Speaking of big scale, I've wanted a 1/4 or 1/5 scale New Era for a loooong time.

Golf...For little money, you can make your short game a hobby. I went from a 16 to a 7 using Dave Pelz short game bible and going to the range a lot, never hitting the ball farther than 125 yds. You'll become deadly inside 100 and get up-and-down more often than not when you miss the green.

Haha I definitely feel that. My weak spot is my putting game, I'll hit a GIR and when I'm off I'll 2 or 3 putt. :evil: It's so frustrating. I set up a kickback putting machine and putt all day long when I'm at home doing work on a fine pile carpet, it's a lot like putting on a slowish green and has helped a LOT with my accuracy. I also picked up a better putter which made a difference, but the custom irons / hybrid took literally 4-5 strokes off of my game. I just need to round out the set with a custom driver, 60 degree and a new 3 wood because mine's seen better days.

if you like golf but dont wanna drop the $$$$ for rounds i suggest you look into disc golf. There's probably 3-5 courses in the charlotte area and there arent any fees to play at most places. A set of discs will cost around 50 dollars initially but after that you dont have to pay anything to play. It's great fun and the people are super chill. Unless you hate hippies its a good sport to try out, especially if you like ball golf.

not really close enough... it forces "race day" to be an ALL DAY thing. when i was at JMU i used to race at Linville and another place down 33 in the winter. but that was when i was racing the sedans. I want to go offroad because i can "test" and bash around the backyard and then race when i want.
