This is some seriously intense racing that'll keep you on the edge until the end. If you've got 10 mins. to kill, have a look:

Reminds me of NASCAR. You know, real competitive non-pussy racing.

There is something about that finish that I really didn't like.

Anyone have post race reaction text or video?

Both drivers were reprimanded and not allowed to race for 2 races. Both are to blame, and I love the racing right up until the last corner.

The corvette got desperate and bumped...obviously, he may not have meant to but he did it. Then they went side by side, then the porsche purposely put the vette into the wall and continued to push despite the corvette past him. Just cause he punted you doesnt mean you can do the same thing. It wasnt even for points!!!

This one is interesting. Pay close attention to the silver right front fender of the Porsche.

ego points are sometimes much more valuable

the vette driver should have known better than to cross pit out. the 911 driver should have known better than to go mad max on him at the end. as for me, i was on the edge of my seat and loving it.

If you're running a race of blocking, expect to get moved out of the way. Theres a difference between wrecking a guy and moving him off of his line. The Corvette hit pretty hard, its a good thing no one got hurt.

watching the video that Goodspeed posted.... That vette driver just did what the P car driver had been doing for the last 10 minutes of the race....

the first time (in the video) they went through turn two, the P car did a brake check... then tried to run him off the track ever time he went around the outside of turn one. he deserved a bump... and lord knows how he got around him with 30 seconds left or whatever anyway... and then after the bump that was obviously the P car getting into the vette.

I dont think i would have given much of a talk to the guy in the vette... but that P car driver would be out on his ass. He was trying to hurt the guy... and he cant deny it... look at where he spun him at Laguna... its nothing but walls down there.

kaan, the p got around because the vette was penalized for cutting pit out.

ahh ok, i was wondering how he was able to get away with that move too. to me the P car was just racing a little dirty the entire end of the race, and as soon as the table got turned on him, he got out of line. the way it was seen in that video he cut in on him hard.

I see nothing spectacular about that finish, That kind of garbage is one of the reasons why my racecar sits in my garage.
The fight up to it was a good battle but a little frustrating to watch because Ive been there. Jan was considerably faster and Berg was doing nothing but blocking.

it stung a little bit, but it was the right call to give the spot back to Berg after Jan passed him in pit out lane. that can create havoc if everyone did that.
not that ive ever done anything like that

who is at 'fault' ?
Berg shouldnt have run him off the road in T2 every lap
Jan shouldnt have bumped him
Berg shouldnt have run him into the wall

this kind of crap keeps escalating until someone is in the wall.
is racing supposed to be that the winner is the guy willing to be the most willing to wreck someone the and the loser is either the guy in a concrete wall or has the cooler head to back off? ugh.

the hypocirsy is that berg got barrely bumped (wheel to wheel/side to side) by a ferrari last year at finish line and he was screaming bloody murder that the guy should be DQed.

It's ridiculous they received the same penalty, I am also sure being run into the barrier probably stings more than being tapped in the rear bumper.

as far as I know it was technically legal, there certainly wasnt anything in the supps that said it wasnt. probably since at VIR that 'line' would give no speed advantage (unlike laguna) so there is really no reason to take it except the exact situation I used it for (which itself isnt a very common situation)

In nasa even the grass is considered racing surface.
