It's about time. RJ and I were just talking about how cool it would be if Yamaha offered one and here it is. I was thinking about the S1000RR next year but this kinda makes the decision tough.

They already did a Yellow/Black speed blocks R1 though. Honestly I wish Rossi would do another cool and goofy special paint job like the funkadelic RCV or the aloha NSR.

Anyway...WANT.

They have a #99 model as well... which i think for whatever reason, looks better. My biggest issue with an LE or replica bike is... when i drop it, how much is it really going to cost me to get it back into shape? Plastics cost enough as is without them being "rare"

It's rice, plain and simple. If someone had a car that had race decals/paint all over it, people would hate on it in a flash.

Car != Bike

You don't see cars with non-race replica graphics either. Why? Because they're cars. I don't see either of you hating on the normal paint jobs that come on the R1. There's only one R1 paint scheme that is purely a solid color, all of the other ones are stickered up. And in Paul's case you rode a stickered-up Aprilia and I didn't see you taking them off. Any car with similar graphics would be tacky.

Your arguments are fail. Get thee away before the banhammer finds your skull.

I will agree though that it should have some uprated suspension and/or mo' power or something. Like the old R1 LE with the Marchesinis and Ohlins.

ah ha - my ape was the least stickered up one - then i painted it ALLL WHITE.

Wink

I don't prefer a lot of color schemes on bike anyways, but if you have special, there HAS to be perf. mods

That's kinda my point.. they should be treated the same. Just because it's a bike, whacked out colors and graphics are okay? No thanks.

I'm not a fan of whacked out paint jobs either. There's a reason my bike is monochrome.

Almost champion, when I crashed it, it had race plastics on it, which were painted all white as well.
