Need a head for B18 ASAP

Thanks RJ. I found the little timing marks on the cam sprockets and the holes for the punches you were talking about. Everything seemed to be lined up good and I used 4.5mm Allen wrenches to secure the cams.

I put the belt on, stuck my compression gauge in all the holes and built pressure in each. So I started it and it ran great, no misfires. The belt was loose and made noise so I need work on the tension.

Tonight I will double, triple check the timing, get better tension on the belt, put it all back together and hope for the best.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

To tension the belt, loosen up the 14mm bolt head on the tensioner (dont remove it, and then turn the engine CCW slightly (15-20* rotation) and re tighten. While you're in there it wouldnt be a bad idea to replace the tensioner and water pump.

I didn't want to jinx it before my commute this morning but all is good.

I see how turning the crank 15-20* CCW put the tension on one side of the belt and the slack on the tensioner side. I rotated the engine a few times and rechecked the timing, everything was perfect.

It didn't want to start when I first got it all back together which scared me, it ran fine the day before. I tried clear flood mode, and after a few seconds of cranking, it started up and ran quiet and smooth.

I almost had a heart attack when I was putting the wheel back on and the air compressor fired up, it sounded like the engine was shooting to 9K and ready to blow up.

I'm not sure how I got so lucky, my guess is the low rpm when it tore the teeth and the vehicle not moving just allowed everything to shut down and stop rotating almost instantly.

Again, thanks for all the help and info I definitely appreciate it.
