No manual trans V8's. I don't think toyota has *ever* made a manual trans that bolts to a V8.
But yes, the SC300 did have an option for a 5 speed. But none of the V8's (SC400, GS400, LS400) ever had a manual from the factory.

The 2UZ down under had a manual trans option, but only in the Land Cruiser and it wasn't exactly what I'd call common.

I'm pretty sure there are cars with 1UZs and manual trannies, but i believe it requires a custom bellhousing to do it. Perhaps thats where the confusion is coming from...
A manual SC400 would make me tingle in the right spots...

there is a company in new zealand that makes the bellhousing and everything necessary to make the w-58 work... those guys down there are insane. They have an e30 rally car with a 1uz with ITB's that is utterly absurd. ... I get a chubby just thinkin about it
