ScottyB Wrote:thanks for the offer man. i'll be in during thanksgiving and we'll be driving the scoob up. i don't know if i would take an orbital on without you telling me what to do though.

That's no problem. I'll be in town all that week with not much to do so helping wouldn't be a problem. I'm planning on doing mine sometime that week anyway because my new paint from the summer should finally be cured enough.

ScottyB Wrote:currently my washes go as such:

either wurth autoshampoo (conventional) or optimum no-rinse followed up by clay magic and then zymol cleaner wax.

That technique sounds good. Waxing after every wash might be slight overkill but it certainly won't hurt anything.

ScottyB Wrote:if i go with menzerna final polish after clay, can i hand-apply it? after that, i can go ahead with something like menzerna FMJ as my last step protectant, correct? or do people put carnauba on top of that?

You can apply it by hand, although I never have. It would take quite a while though because it usually takes me about 2 minutes to do a panel with an orbital. You should get nearly the same results, an orbital just takes about 90% of the effort out of it.

ScottyB Wrote:i've been hanging out at autopia for a while (love the before/after threads) and so far its like learning an alien acronym language. everything is like in code or something. takes forever to figure out what the hell is going on.

I hear you on that. I had to hang around for probably at least a year to finally catch on to the lingo and all of the abbreviations. Search for a thread with all of the abbreviations for products to help with the madness. I still have to check it every once in a while just because there is so many different acronyms and sayings out there.

UGGGHH!!!! Sorry for not responding. People please don't hesitate to pm me or call. I haven't been following this site in a while. My phone # is on my website cpdetailing.com. Anyways, I have a whole buch of things to tell you...but not enough time...Gimme a kall for more info.

Always check-out properautocare.com and autogeek.net for great prices on quality products. For truly long-lasting protection, the Zaino line has no comparison, at least in my opinion. I've had FMJ no more than 3 months, whereas one layer of non-zfx'ed Zaino z2 pro lasted an entire WINTER of neglect and abuse.
