Mine about a year ago was $39 for the front. I contacted Carbotech recently and the cost is up to like 50 or 60.

hrm well that sucks.
give ebay a shot. Thats where I found mine the cheapest.

On a side note, I still havent faded the fuckers. Braking deep at Summit and even Beaver for back to back 30 minute sessions and no fade. I glaze the fuck out of them, turn them into marshmallows, and overheat them like nothing else, but they still bite.
although I think it might be time to go to some real track pads Sad

Holy fuck. I just put some HP+ (with some shiny new rotors an stainless lines) in the front of my car and the fucking thing is loud. Like louder than my horn.

Just broke them in, so I don't have an opinion just yet, except that the bastards are too loud for a street-only car.

sounds like your horn has a problem man Tongue
I don't feel like mine are that loud. I doubt that yours would be that much louder than mine.

I run the Axxis ultimates. They are great. They dont squeal at all and have excellent initial bite before they are heated up. They are great at autocrosses as well. I have never had them on a track (and would'nt either). There biggest problem is dusting. Even just one or two days after I clean my wheels they are coated again with brake dust. If you dont mind dirty wheels, then the ultimates are where its at. I know jason runs these same pads and like's them alot too.

If you dont mind spending more money, and dont want all that dust, the Carbotech Bobcats are supposed to be very nice. There only downside is cost (A little over 100 bucks for my application), but according to them, they have:

"1) Extremely low dusting on the street
2) Excellent cold stopping, perhaps as low as 40F!!
3) Fade resistant to at least 900F
4) Very rotor friendly over entire temperature range
5) Very quiet over broad range of line pressure inputs
6) Incredibly firm pedal feel and excellent initial bite."

I've had the same luck with the ultimates. They have been great for street (haven't autox them yet). The dust sucks, but I don't care anymore. My panter plus pads are in the mail and I'll do a write up on them after the track.
