For those who may not know, our mascot, the one "Duke Dog", was involved in a fight with the Coastal Carolina "Chanticleer" mascot at last Saturday's game...

Apparently, the Carolina mascot attempted to shake hands with Duke Dog, but DD brushed him off. When the Carolina mascot turned his back, DD kicked him. Who knows if it was in jest or a serious insult, but a fight erupted and was broken up. Apparently later in the game it erupted again, with Duke Dog supposedly pushing a cop and as a result getting his ass beaten.
Of course people are supporting the Duke Dog, but it looks like he started it. Either way, watching costumed people fight is funny.

omg... i can't believe they're giving DD any kind of shit for that... it was CLEARLY a joke kick/tap... the CC mascot should have been arrested if anyone was going to get reprimanded at all.

Clearly the CC mascot lost his head a bit, but that was overall pretty shitty sportsmanship on Duke Dog's part....turning down a respectful handshake and then (real or not) kicking him in the ass as he turns around, sounds like real cocky unsportsman-like conduct to me.
LOL this is hilarious. watching people fight in costumes is entertainment to me no matter how many times i may see it.
