I turned a 1:46.10 my third session. My fastest lap at VIR North prior to yesterday was a 1:48.xx. By the end of the day I was rolling consistent 1:46s back to back but I don't think I ever improved on the 1:46.10. My only goal was to fix my body position that got shitty after a year of no riding, I'm pretty sure I accomplished that but I'm waiting for Pics of You to upload photos.

Most humbling moment of the day: being passed by an AMA privateer. It was redonkulous. The guys there were reportedly running 1:28s and 1:29s (there were 2 AMA privateers there that I saw pass me). The two that passed me both got me coming out of 3 (during different sessions tho). Watching those guys go through 4-6 was amazing. It's one thing to see it on TV or from the side of the track, it's a whole nother thing to be watching these guy do it as you're trying to keep up. It pretty much leaves you thinking "maybe I should just pit and get out of their way."

I was worried about being in the racer group given that I had been told AMAers would be out there tearing it up. I completely over hyped it to myself. One or two laps into I discovered I wasn't the slowest one there and a lot of the pressure I put on myself felt relieved. In the end it had to be the best track day I've ever had. Most of the guys in the group were probably running 40s to 50s so if you had a gap in front of you you weren't going to close it in one lap, which felt more like having an open track than any other track day I've ever been a part of in the past. During the average session I would pass 1 or 2 guys and 1 or 2 guys would pass me, it was freakin spectacular in how light the traffic felt.

Basically - as soon as you get fast enough to run around in the ADV/RCR group without holding people up, I say do it. I can't believe I've sat in Sport Enthus/Intermediate for so long just wasting time.
