I get mine from Kenny Fisher at Roadracespeed
<!-- e --><a href="mailto ![]() tell him Evan sent you and he should give you a little discount. he comes to the track a lot so he can usually deliver to the track to save on shipping too.

Kenny's cool. I tried to get Cobalt's new XR3's but Cobalt shits on MR2's so I was out of luck.

good lord, if the miata isn't getting production runs, how popular does it have to be? I'd say the miata is easily the hands-down favorite track car in terms of numbers on track.

I'd say the miata is easily the hands-down favorite track car in terms of numbers on track.just the XR2 they wont produce, they think its too agressive for the weight and good brakes of the car ( i keep telling them SM guys will take as agressive as it gets). XR3 they have truckloads of for the miata. edit: andy just said that in much fewer words.

hey guys,
just bumping this back up. looking for good track pads for the integra this season and i wanted to try something other than Carbotech. What has the equivalent bite, modulation, and fade resistance as the XP-8? Cobalt XR3? any other pads? what are you guys running?

Jason dont you need to go to the track to need track pads?
![]() XR-3 is the rough equivalent to the XP8 like Julie said, BHP are getting good reviews too (but they wear quick)

And I know Sean Thompson thought they were nice on Cobetto's beater pace car. Matt who used to work at Carbotech is the guy to talk to about BHP. i used the BHP PR-3 compound for the first time this weekend and i loved them. they were amazing! not even a hint of fade, modulation was pretty easy and the initial bite of the pads were aggressive enough for me but not harsh (i know thats subjective, but it felt great to me). the CR-6 compound which i used last year does wear quickly, but i pulled the PR-3 pads off after the weekend and they seem to have a lot of meat left on them. VIR full isnt exactly hard on brakes though so i'm not sure if thats indicative of increased pad life or just an easy track on brakes. matt nicholson said they should last about twice as long as the CR-6 though. problem is that they're not exactly giving these things away. they're a bit pricey but brakes are one of those things i certainly dont want to skimp on. i feel like its one of those things where everyone's fruitlessly looking for the infinite life/can be used on street and track/cheap as hell/doesnt dust holy grail though. but to me, the most important thing is its performance on track and i havent really had pads like these since XP8's. i definitely recommend these.

when you call, ask for matt and tell him you're in MM or that maeng sent ya. that way he can charge you the 250% markup. j/k, but he does know about MM though so i'm sure he'd appreciate it.

J.Ray if you still want Cobalts, let me know know. My buddy Victor is a retailer for them, and he's local.
I just purchased some XR3 fronts for this season. |
