What you have here is a nice, rebuilt m10 engine. Buy now, and you get a free car! It has 15-20k on the professionally rebuilt block (2 years ago by Buckhead Motorworks), and the head was also professionally rebuilt by Curry's Auto svc about 4 years ago. Crank scraper and custom oil pan baffle that's similar to what's found in the M3. Compression is bumped, is about 170 across all cyls, spec is ~150. Runs awesome and burns/leaks NO oil even though I run a fairly light synthetic. I've taken good care of it. Just so you know, the head has always been noisy, a bit more so than other m10's. But it has never gotten worse, I've always kept the valves adjusted, nothing is loose or oddly worn, and I gave up on trying to figure it out long ago. It works great.

A pic of the block two years ago before I put everything back together:

Sadly, the car isn't much to look at. And I've unbolted all my track stuff from it. It now has worn out suspension and bushings that came off my m42. It is approaching 300k miles, but has little if any rust where it counts and is a good solid chassis. All panels are original other than a fender some chick backed into when it was in my care, that's the only "wreck" it's had. I also swapped the trunk for one with a lip spoiler. All gauges work, fuel pump(s), lines, filter have been replaced, it's got a gutted cat and surprisingly quiet, straight through, Dynomax muffler. Rebuilt brakes and master cyl, rebuilt halfshafts, driveshaft in good condition with good guibo. Synthetics in trans and diff. Radiator, hoses, everything replaced when I started this years ago. No AC, no PS, no radio. I have the glovebox and can re-install it, as well as a nice set of trunk carpeting if wanted.

Thread documenting its past few years in my care:

It could stay a soft, cushy DD. Park it anywhere, don't lock it, run down gypsies with the sweet metal bumpers. It could also be turned back into a track car, this engine would love it. Megasquirt? Boost? A GRM 2k7 car! I would trust it as it stands right now to drive cross country. Seriously!

In addition to the motor and car, I'll load it all up with extras, known good parts to keep it running forever!:
transmission
starter
alternator
a couple AFMs and ICVs, ignition wires, coils, distributors
oilpan
plenty of other crap

I'm entertaining any offers. I think $1500 would be a fair price. The bottlecaps on it right now have old, shot tires on them. I have a set of steelies with excellent all-season tires that I could be talked into swapping on if you plan on DD-ing it. I will also un-install the center vent gauges and re-install vent.

I really hope it can find a new home, but I'll miss it! It has been a wonderful track car. A great autocrosser too. Doesn't get you in too much trouble and is so light (2300 lbs!), consumables are a minimum. The definition of a momentum car. Forces you to learn, and I've learned a lot from it.

Damn, here's a guy selling a set of Bilstein sports and H&R race springs, the SpecE30 setup for $600. Add that to this car and you're in business!

Just in case you're wondering, this car is lighter, FAR cheaper, simpler/easier to work on, and therefore a much better track and autocross car than, say, a 2000 Mazda Miata LS.

By the way, if anyone's interested, here are the whees/tires it could come with instead. The tires are practically brand new Yoko Avid H4, and the hubcaps all stay on very well and are in good shape.
