New Ducati to be unvelied today
#1
This week is World Ducati Week in Misano Italy. Today at 7:00 pm GMT (2:00 pm our time) they will be unveiling an all new bike that is rumored to be based on their Moto GP Desmosedici. Desmo-say-what you say? Here's a pic of the race bike:

While the Ducati 999 is no slouch I'd be interested in seeing if this new Duc can out and out beat the new Jap liter bikes (R1, ZX-10R, CBR1000RR, GSXR1000).

Oh, I thought these Ducati shoes were pretty hot:

Stupid Ducati. They just used the opportunity to announce that they will build a street version of the Desmosedici and that the first ones will be delivered spring 2006. No pictures no numbers, but they said it'll cost 50,000 Euros. *Sigh* silly Italians.

on the topic of new bikes, has anyone heard of the Buell firebolt XB9R, or something like that, it looked really cool and apparently is pushing the "envelope" in regards to bike design

yeah, those buells are pretty interesting. i think the fuel is stored in the swingarm or something like that. how do you pronounce buell anyway, is it like buell as in ferris bueller? or more like bull?

Buell as in Bueller Smile. Yeah apparently the Firebolt has some very trick design elements, score one for Buell. Its still not really a proper sport bike but as sport tourers go the Firebolt is in good company.

I personally am not a fan of the Duc styling, but I agree that they have some hot merchandise.
Duc body forms have that love-it-or-hate-it trait, and I tend to swing toward the hate-it section. Although, I will say that the Desmosedici is pretty good lookin.

i think the buell has the fuel stored in a hollow frame. if i remember my old cycle sport mags that is. it was out in prototype a long time ago... at least 5 years old. buells are are rubber band bikes if i remember right, and thats just a turn off.

i read somewhere that it's not as bad as you'd think for breakage, but they do it for less sound.
