Seriously, the Quran was written centuries ago during a time of constant holy war, of course it says things like that. It just hasn't been largely changed since then, so you're NOT supposed to take it literally. Thats why they're called "fundamentalists". Why else would they want to go back to life in the 6th century, oppressing everything modern. Extreme hard liners that take the literal content and twist it to fit their agendas.
