meh....wintergreen and masannutten may suck shit, but every time I have been to Snowshoe the quality of snow was amazing. West may have more elevation, but Id rather make a few more trips on the lift than sit on a plane

wintergreen and massanutten are shit. snowshoe is decent and seven springs is decent, but out west you have any and every kind of trail you could imagine. and the snow is all powder, no ice... its amazing

I'm just curious... I only know about motorsports and cycling, but is there any outdoor sport that's better on the east coast than the west? EVERYTHING I've ever been into has had much better facilities/spots/following/natural betterness out west than here.

Anybody do anything that sucks less here than there?

*edit* government contracting does not count as an outdoor activity, no matter how long your smoke breaks are.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Id much rather mt bike on the east coast, I prefer the terrain (and the scenery) here. (which would also go for hiking and camping)

I don't know about that, Evan. I went hiking/camping in Colorado and it was so much better than here especially once you cross the timberline.

I like how close everything is here, everything at least in Nevada, Utah, and Colorado is spread out!

I actually want to as well. Its supposed to actually be quite mild there. I know some people going to school there and they tell me its positively badass. Housing prices are supposedly insane, but when it looks like this out your window would you care?

Oh, and west coast is full of frickin wierdos. Think of New Jersey. Now think of an entire COAST of New Jersey. Yeah. That wierd.

Oregon has only full service gas stations (and yes they get pissed if you fill your own)

Hippies. Hippies. Hippies.

There are approx. 100 billion volcanos in Washington State alone (I stepped in one by accident earlier today!)

The Seahawks lost the Super Bowl

No good chili shacks for hundreds of miles.

Auto-X? Sure! Right after I take off my mandatory 200 catalytic converters that California requires.

Earthquakes. Earthquakes. Earthquakes.

No good BBQ places (w/ exception of Famous Daves).

And most importantly!.....

No, they live there because they are nuts. (See above post)

Although I will admit, the Cascades are an incredible outdoor treat for the outdoor enthusiast. I'm pretty sure Seattle has the biggest REI in the country.

I freakin' loved the Pac NW when I was up there....def. my favorite place in the US so far, I want to see Florida cause that looks fun too. I was in Oregon/Washington a few summers ago and it was awesome.

Yeah, Cali people generally are nuts. Lots of my family live in Norcal....interesting mix of hippies and wannabe rednecks. Nice scenery though
