Saw somthing on the news about people selling kits that can be used to make ethanol as fuel.
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. What cars can run on pure ethanol anyways?
E85 flex-fuel vehicles can run 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Not sure that E100 is available yet.

Any car can run on pure ethanol,
It'll just eat your fuel lines, unless they're made of SS, and varnish your fuel filter.
But you can do it. You'll lose some HP in naturally aspirated apps.
And then, of course, making your own deisel is simple. Remove glycerin from veggie oil, remove water from that, pour into tank.

my truck is E85, but I have no plans of using it. Less energy per unit and more expensive (at least right now)
I also remember reading that ethanol is a net-loss energy source. It takes more energy to refine it than it produces.
im also skeptical of these kits producing ethanol that ends up being any cheaper than gas
All Chrysler vans are flex fuel. Started in the mid 90's.
