Thinking about getting a set of used Sparco Speed seats for 400 including base/sliders. Do you guys know anything about them and is it a good price/seat? I sat in the sprints at OG, and they were pretty comfortable and those who have met me know I'm a skinny guy.

if they fit you that isn't a bad price at all... i've never been comfortable in one, i guess i'm fat.

According to the Sparco website, it says that the Speed seats aren't FIA-homologated and not recommended for competition use. Now does that mean not for W2W racing or not for track use, period?
Two feet.
It means if you want to race with it, you have to have a metal seat brace attached to the cage.
The speed is a metal tube frame seat. Personally I dont like them, for comfort and saftey reasons. A fiberglass seat like the EVO, Pro2k, Circuit, Rev, etc are much more comfortable, FIA approved and safer.
Is it the general consensus that tube frame seats are inferior? I guess I just gotta suck it up and shell out the dough.
Two feet.
not a consensus, but a fact. is your firewall not directly behind your seat? if it is, you have less to worry about regarding the safety of a tube frame seat.
