What are the differences between the different subaru models? I've been searching classifieds, and I want to look at some of those 4 door sedan models. I think the legacys came with 4 doors in a sedan..but which legacy models were the sedans?
Any other models taht fit this description from say 94 - 99? AWD, 4door, not shitty..etc?

edit: more specifically there are two ads in the paper here - one for a 94 Impreza ($3000, 54k miles) or a 97 Legacy GT($6,000, 76k miles)

Legacy GT's were ALL sedans.
Any "Outback" is a wagon.
Most Imprezas ads will say if they're wagons or not, because most imprezas were sedans, with probably a few more wagons than coupes.
Outbacks, on the other hand, the favorite of hippies, soccer moms, and grandmas, were majority wagons.
In other words, the 97 Legacy GT is a 4 door sedan, the Impreza you'd have to call about.

Yeah what rex said.
The Legacy GT 4 door sedans have surprisingly nice interiors. Very quality car all around. Outback / Foresters are going to be more of your wagon type but are also really great cars. I believe during the 02 / 03 years of the Outback, they modeled the body style after the bugeye WRX. I've seen a few of those around.

Ah...now, without having seen the car, how do those prices sound just based on year/mileage?

I bought a 99 Outback wagon as a family hauler and found out the 2.5 engines have head gasket problems big time. Mine shit it on the way home from the dealer I bought it from

but they paid the whole nut to replace the head gaskets. Engine needs to be pulled to do this(so it is said) from my research, the HG fail is internal so no leak and no typical symptoms. on a long ride combustion gas leaks into the cooling system and blows all the coolant out the overflow. It does not get hot while this is happening, only when enough has been pushed out. If the car responded to the recall, and the dealer put in the magig juice they tried to solve this problem with, and the gasket still failed they warrantee fixed it. there are lots that are due for failure....
buy wisely
