They've made a lot of really cool gestures this year. Fixing up Laguna, giving Lawson the 500 he won his 2nd world championship on, the bumblebees, and now this.
Marketing really seems to have their heads on right.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Fuck Yamaha. They need to be racing AMA Superbike instead of poaching privateers in the support classes.
However, I can't really hate them that much since they ponied up the cash for the Laguna improvements.

Which, of course, Rossi bad mouthed as soon as he didn't finish on the podium.... very uncool if you ask me, and certainly not painting a good image for your title sponsor.
But, either or. Did you hear about Boz & Hodgson, speaking of superbike?

Yeah its kind of odd that Eric Bostrom decided not to re-up with Ducati Austin but his brother comes along and takes his place. Especially considered that BBoz was talking so much shit about AMA last season while he was off getting his ass whooped in World Superbike.
On Rossi I thought that was shitty of him (and Marco Melandri) but he publicly apologized to the fans at the Saturday concert. He sort of has a point in that all of the Euro tracks are a lot safer. As Americans we're used to having concrete walls and no runoff room. We shouldn't be.

Granted, about the safety. I just chalked it up to Rossi doing his sore loser thing.... back when he was losing to Gibi (Hooray Ducati, again) he was a mess, and again this year when he stuffed it up inside Melandri without any kind of caution... and now this Altadis sponsorship mess he's created - AGAIN. More and more, despite his incredible riding & development talents I dislike him.
I read somewhere about a lot of campaigns to get more airfences and the like to American tracks, which is definitely a major step in the right direction. Without the incredible fan base, and money coming in, though, I don't think we'll have much luck getting football field sized runoff zones.
I think the Ducati split with EBoz was on the note that he wasn't keen on going back, but they weren't exactly offering him a renewel. Makes you wonder what happened there, 'eh? I'd really like to see Neil Hodgson do well. It was a big disappointment to me that he left MotoGP and it's never really a good thing to watch somebody take a step backwards... it would be nice if he could prove himself with Mladin... that he belongs up top.
Blah blah, motorcycles, blah blah. I'd love a free Duke.

+1
They have the money and the tech, they should just go ahead and use it. If they start winning there (big if) that would be the real marketing boost for them
