Political Flame War (Split from Found my Next Truck)
JackoliciousLegs Wrote:I'll have you know that my Turbo II passed VA emissions with flying colors and got 23mpg.

Ok, I'm willing to bet that the emissions from Pete's truck are less than the emissions from your RX-7. Don't get me wrong, I like the RX-7 but a RX-7 owner bashing SUV's for polluting..."Sir, there is a Mr. Kettle on line 1 and he would like to have a word with you"

Quote:I don't agree with what that guy did to those SUVs. It was wrong...
You clearly said: "I was so happy for that CalTech kid that vandalized the hummers. Those beverly hills bitches deserved every scratch."

Don't try to get out of it. You were saying you were happy that some nutjob resorted to violating someone else's right to property to satisfy their own self-righteousness. Being happy that someone else resorted to destruction or violence upon someone else is a tacit endorsement of such behavior.

If you have an SUV for a reason, great... use it. Don't use is to haul groceries. They're not only polluting... they're dangerous.

but safer for those who own them. until there is a reason to not own them, people will continue to buy them because their family is safer.

OOF, I haven't read this whole thread, but what's with the Jack bashing? You guys need to relax.

For what it's worth, I've always agreed with points made on both sides of the liberal/conservative divide. So I guess technically I'm a middle-man.

Generally though, I'm pretty apathetic when it comes to world conflicts. I think Bush is a retard, but there's not much else I can do about the choices he's made since I voted against him. Beyond that, I'm not going to bitch about any other choices our country made, partly because I've never been patriotic and I'm selfish as shit.

Anyone who knows me knows this is the dead truth! I'm one of the most selfish people I know. I'm against the Iraq war not because of really anything valid or debatable, it's just that I could give two shits about the Iraqis. I don't care about all the children dying in Africa, I don't care about the plight of the Jews in the Gaza Strip, I don't even donate blood because I believe I deserve it all to myself.

I'm a total asshole, truthfully. I guess that makes me as American as anyone else...

i've called you "Jackoff" since day one... get over it. i'm not name calling... its my name for you... before you came out to be a marcist.

get a grip, you arent the only one well traveled...

And i agree, down with sexism and racism... even when directed toward white males... you should see who does all the work in the office (me) and who gets promoted and by who.

your RX7 would never run as clean as my honda... so obviously you still had some kind of messed up priorities Wink where is your little solar powered car?

reread your history on the holocaust. and remember its globalist veiw to the majority when dealing with "mass" genocide. it was a World War if you remember from history class.

are you letting your hair grow again?

Erm, the Jewish Holocaust was happening in a majority state, meaning inside the confines of a country. We, as a global populace of humanity, operate completely independently from each other aside from political and economic bonds.

I think you missed Jack's point. Sure, racism and genocide is looked down on by many many many people in the world, but it doesn't make it any less real within the confines of a nation. In the case of the Holocaust, I'm pretty sure that genocide played a more minor role in the global scale of warfare to the strength of our Allies. IIRC, it wasn't until we invaded German-occupied territories that we realized the scope of what was happening during that regime. It's sort of like saying that our Civil War began because of slavery, which is dead wrong.
Or if you want to put it in a modern day context, in many African countries undergoing tribal / civil warfare for example.

i love that these 6 pages came from a thread about a big pickup truck.

MM, off topic fo life! what!

as for what Miguel said:

Quote:but safer for those who own them. until there is a reason to not own them, people will continue to buy them because their family is safer.

i hate that, but it's true. i know alot of people who look at SUV's as big safety pods. which is great, in the event that you hit something. but for me, i'd rather have a vehicle that can brake or accelerate out of a possibly hazardous situation without flipping over in the process.
