Yo... I don't actually have any more boost than "stock", but I don't think anyone would argue against me being a retard. LOL

Mods to my car... the usual K&N intake/turbo inlet/header/uppipe/downpipe/single hi-flow cat/straightpipe exhaust for engine work (should be ~225whp/235wtq on a dynojet), Tein RA 8k/10k coilovers, adjustable 22-24mm front swaybar, no rear bar, 17x8 5Zigen FN01R-C w/ 235/40 Hankook RS-2, Cobalt Friction brakepads for street/autox and track.

As for the stolen STi comment it's because my WRX was blown up for a while (1 front diff death, 1 rebuilt front diff death), and occasionally I borrowed an '04 and '05 STi from friends that have them. Rather, I had the keys thrown at me. I think the crowning moment of the STi-stealing was when the '05 owner said "hey, what are you driving at tomorrow's autox? take my car and run it, I can't go"

Maeng- yeah, I know I'm slow but I'm used to it at this point. Wanna run for pinks at an autox? lol. Dude, that could be our own version of the TV show "Pinks"! So dumb it's almost a good idea. Thanks for reminding me about the vid... I'll pull it off my camera and p0st it in a bit.

Why would you do that? I would think you would be in understeer city. Please explain the reasoning behind this :?:
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Because it works.

That's insightful.

Insightful and basically true.

To be quite honest, I haven't figured out why it really works the way it does. I THOUGHT it would be understeer city, and the first time I tried autoxing with it, I made other changes to even it out. Nope, car snap-spun so fast I had no idea where I was going. About the only thing I can come up with is that by ditching the rear bar completely, it leaves the inside rear free to droop and hit the ground. I think that when you pick up and spin the inside rear under power, the center diff starts screwing all sorts of stuff up. Without the rear swaybar, the back end rotates substantially more on throttle application exiting corners much more like an STi.

The car's pretty neutral on track, and i'll usually goof with pressures+shock settings to make it VERY rotatey for autocross. I've played around with the stock 20mm bar, 22mm bar, 26mm bar and no bar. The latter two have similar balance, while the no-bar setup exits corners better. With the 20 and 22mm bar you don't have enough bar to make the car rotate through rear roll stiffness bias, and the differentials to help you.

I wouldn't do this on a stock or softly sprung car since the rear end of the car DOES roll more and you'd probably be all over the bumpstops or crashing wide tires into the fenders. Plus the car probably wouldn't rotate much with soft springs back there anyways. WITH stiff springs, you can ditch the bar and let the diff rotate the car for you. Power-rotating the car through T14 at VIR in 2nd OR 3rd is pretty bitchin' (it didn't do that before)
