This past weekend

So I decided to make my friends up to dc this weekend to show them the cherry blossoms, seeing as both have never been up to NOVA. When we went outside sat morning to leave from his apppartment at ashby, low and behold his driver side mirror has been stolen. Now kids breaking shit at appartments isnt anything new, so I expected to find the mirror somewhere arround the parking lot. But we looked and looked and found nothing. My friend drives an old dodge intrepid, which just makes me wonder why the hell anyone would steal a drivers side mirror off of a dodge intrepid....
After we finally got past that, we left and headed down to dc. Dropped his car off at my house and took the metro into the city. It was a beautiful day to be outside, especially arround the tidal basin with the cherry blossoms blooming. I took them arround the national mall, basin area, jefferson memorial, etc. We had a great time, and finally headed back to the metro. I had planned on taking them to union station for dinner. So we got back on the metro, which is now packed to the brim because of all the cherry blossom visiters. Well as soon as the train comes to a stop at union station I felt a guy run into me from behind. I didnt think much about it at that moment because there were so many ppl trying to get out, i figured he had just lost his balence or something. However, I got off the train and went to pull out my wallet to get my metro card out and sure enough, its gone. The guy behind me picked my pocket as the train was coming to a stop. I called my parents, had all my cc's cancelled immediately. I got home later and found out the guy tried to use my cc at 4 dififerent places within an hour and a half of my wallet being gone.
I lost my license, cc, debit card, voter registration card, jac card....I have no forms of ID as I type this, which is a huge pain in the ass. Not to mention, this guy has all my information, including social security, etc etc. Shitty weekend.

sorry to hear that Keith. thankfully you did the smart thing and prioritized things correctly instead of freaking out like alot of people do. cancelling those CC's probably pissed that bastard off :x

of course you've heard it before, but its crucial to keep your wallet, or at least your credentials, in your front pocket in a crouded urban setting. better yet, rubber band your cards and cash, and keep them hidden, like down your sock or something. then put maybe 10 bucks in a cheap ass, empty wallet so that if someone mugs you or picks your pocket, that's all they get.

sorry to hear about that dude. i've had my pocket picked before and it was one of the shittiest days i've had to endure.
