Finally bought the new motor

I have been waiting for this one importer down in Florida forever to get some SR20VE's. Finally today they found out they are getting 7 of them in. I called and left my deposit. Its still going to be a month before they get them in, then they ship it to me. For those that don't know, this is the VVL version of the SR20DE. It also has a higher compression ratio and better flowing head. Stock it makes 187 hp v the regular sr20's 140. With the bolt ons I have sitting in my room I hope to make about 180 to the wheels for now.

CVT does not equal VVL. VVL is equivalent to VTEC (except nissans vvl has differernt crossover points for the intake and exhaust cam).

The plan was originally to go with an SR20DET with a Garrett GT28RS. I could make over 300 whp on that setup pretty easily. The thing is, Turbo power> crappy fwd sr20 tranny's. There also becomes a point when you can have to much hp on a wrong wheel drive car. The car will still be plenty fast and hopefully I wont have to replace the tranny every month. I am hoping to run 13's all motor and 12 on nitrous. The real fun starts at the road course though Big Grin

Eventually I'd like to get an S13. That will get a DET.

180 to the wheels in a car that weighs nothing

sr20det only gets 180 whps-190whps stock with bigger potential. Something to think about.

Excuse me, correct my statement to "Goofy cam timing, lift, etc tricks < turbo."
