You crack me up man. But hey, thanks for chiming in! 8)

As far as the target A/F goes, I only know what this nifty, rather complete Bosch Fuel Injection book that covers the Jetronic and Motronic systems tells me, and what little I know about the subject outside of that. And it says max power is 12.6:1. If I'm in the 12 to 13 range at full throttle and something shy of that part throttle, I'll be super happy. 11:1 is just wasting fuel. And power. At least for a non boosted engine.

Thanks though for giving me some other options to think about, I'd just like to be able to actually DO something when I dyno it after plopping in the new motor if the A/F is off. But hey, you're right, I might not need to waste the $$, maybe I'll start with the O2 and stock setup and see if the computer gets it right.

Talk on! Give me some more acronyms to look up!

Quote:So, with an FMU, you can get an adjustable FPR, without using the extra increase-fuel-pressure-relative-to-intake-tract-pressure while paying only ~70 bucks, instead of a 125. Just because it has a feature you'll never use doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it.

Show me a 'fmu' that can set base fuel pressure anywhere from 0 - 100 psi for 80 bucks or less on ebay.

I'm sorry that you are under the impression that an fmu is just as good as a real adjustable fuel pressure regulator...but they are not even designed to do the same thing.

Quote:You dont need oversize injectors to benefit from running higher fuel pressure and tuning with a VAFC.

I didn't say they were needed. In some cases they might even make things worse.

My entire point is that an afpr is not going to do what he wants it to do...and if it is, all I ask is that he explain how.

I'm glad I crack you up. Expecting to tune for a 12.5 a/f on a car without accurate air metering or precise fuel delivery cracks me up.

I'm not saying 12.5 is a bad ratio for your car. How would I know?
I'm not saying a good adjustable fuel pressure regulator is something you should not buy...in fact I demand that if you are serious about tuning you go out and buy a quality one.

But an afpr is just part of the picture and I don't want you to expect to be able to do anything serious with just that once you get to the dyno.
