Seat switch

Is there any way on most cars to switch the driver and passenger seats? I know that things like lumbar that have turn wheels whon't be possible, but what about just the tilt lever... etc? Is this possible on some cars?

Just unbolt them and see if they are interchangeable.

Possible Problems:

1. If drivers seat is powered and passenger seat isn't, there would be no power hookup for the seat on the passenger side.
2. Controls on wrong side of seat.
3. Clearance between seat controls and center console.

If you don't mind the adjustment controls being on the wrong side I don't think there would be any large problems.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I don't see why it couldn't be done. You might need to swap the rails though, I know mine are different from left to right.

Also, the seats in my 240 (and others, I believe) have the seatbelt reciever on one side or the other. If you switch sides, the seatbelts cease to work.

Controls and seat belt attachment will be the big problem I see. I think next weekend I'm going to unbolt my seats and see what I can do. My driver's seat is beginning to show wear, and my passenger is perfect. I want to see if I can do the ol' switcheroooo

taking the seat out should be a peice of cake. Just look at how they bolt into the car to determine if it will work. You'll probably have to change the rails up, which will be a royal PITA IMO

changing the rails (in my car) is a simple affair. the seat belt will be the biggest issue, i don't see how you'd get around it.

check out workman's auto on liberty, in downtown h'burg. they could reupholster(sp?) the seat for less than a 100 depending on materials and condition of seat.

condition is great, and it's black leather. Don't think it'd be less than $100...

If it's just one seat you want to reupholster, I don't think it will be that expensive, if you don't believe, ask M. Chase.
