I believe pretty firmly that our website can and should be a jumping off point for everything else. That's why I rebuilt it when I was a student in 2009. The homepage was always up to date with a basic list of events, or results from an autocross or whatever. There were links to the forum and to Facebook. Nobody since my class bothered to post much so it languished. I finally spent time at work updating the theme just so it wasn't embarrassing.

The difference between how my leadership did things and how it's gone since, is that we marketed the club BOTH to students (via social media, forums) and to Virginia at large (website). I didn't want it to be another college car club, I wanted it to be THE college car club that everyone knew about.

Difference in mindset.

The issue from my perspective is different levels of investment. People give time to things they care about. I think a high level of investment isn't developed over night but with a combination of time and positive experiences. Sometimes it can be difficult to judge someone's else's level of investment.
