Apparently some guy is flying in from Michigan to buy it for full asking price on Friday. Seems crazy to not haggle at all, but I guess we'll see how that pans out. He works for Ford apparently so who knows.
Edit: Told his dad all he needs to know about verifying the check first. I've sold a few cars this way and it hasn't been a problem so far.
2015 VW GTI | 2007 4Runner Sport
SOLD
2010 Nissan 370z | 2003 BMW M3
2005 Subaru WRX | 2010 BMW 135i | 1999 BMW M3
2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 | 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX SE
1995 Pontiac Firebird Formula | 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX | 1996 Pontiac Firebird
I'd be leery of a check. It's 2016...make the buyer wire the money, if he wants the car that bad he'll do whatever you ask.
Personal check? Yeah, no way.
Cashier's? Sure, as long as you can call the bank to verify it.

Buyer fell through, couldn't get a loan. But yeah, definitely no way on personal checks.
I'm guessing they'll just sell it to Hi-End Auto. $20k isn't a bad offer for it.

These cars have fallen into a curious predicament..many of them are still worth $20K+ but most financial institutions won't extend auto loans on them as they're too old. Robert at Hi-End somehow finds people financing on these cars, that's why he's the go-to-guy nationally when shopping for Terminators/GT500s on credit.
Navy Federal and PenFed (I think) will still finance just about anything.
Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan
Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S
As I said, most financial institutions won't write loans for Terminators. There's almost always an exception, but even still there are certain qualifying factors that you must meet before Navy Federal or PenFed will talk to you.
PenFed = make a small donation to a military charity on their site and you become a member.

You mean $20 in a checking account? I have PenFed...that's what it took to "qualify".
